With our campervan solar kits, you can become independent of the power grid – whether at the campsite, in nature, or on a vanlife adventure. Our complete solutions include everything you need for your self-sufficient power supply: solar panels, MPPT charge controller, cables, connectors, and mounting hardware – tailored to your vehicle and your energy requirements.
How to find the right solar kit for your motorhome
Before choosing a system, you should know your daily energy consumption . This will ensure that your system is optimally suited to your needs.
- Note the wattage of your appliances (e.g. refrigerator 50 W, laptop 60 W).
- Estimate the daily usage time in hours.
- Multiply both values to calculate the watt-hours (Wh) .
- Divide the Wh by the on-board voltage (12 V) to determine the amperage requirement (Ah) .
- Plan for a buffer of approximately 20% for bad weather or peak loads.
If you would like to delve deeper, you will find many tips and explanations about calculating and planning your motorhome solar system in our topic area.
Overview of module variants
Framed solar panels
For permanent roof mounting – high performance, stable and durable. Ideal for larger motorhomes or permanent campers.
Flexible solar modules
Lightweight, flat, and aerodynamic. Perfect for tight spaces, curved roofs, or when weight is a factor.
Foldable solar panels
Mobile, portable, and flexible in its use. Ideal for occasional users or as an additional power source on the go.
Advantages of a solar kit for your motorhome

Whether LiFePO4, AGM, or gel batteries – here you will find the most important information to plan your energy supply safely, efficiently, and for the long term.
What is included in a motorhome solar kit?
A solar kit typically includes all the necessary components: solar modules (framed, flexible, or foldable), MPPT charge controllers, cables, connectors, and mounting hardware. Optional accessories such as batteries or inverters can be added.
How do I find the right solar kit for my motorhome?
First, determine your daily electricity consumption. Multiply the power of your appliances (watts) by the usage time (hours) and add all the values together. Then, allow a 20% buffer for weather-related yield fluctuations.
Can I install the solar kit myself?
Yes, most kits are suitable for DIY installation. With a little DIY skill and by following the instructions, you can mount the system on your vehicle's roof. However, for larger systems, we recommend having a specialist install it.
What are the differences between framed, flexible and foldable modules?
Framed modules offer maximum performance and stability, flexible modules are lightweight and adapt to curved roofs, and foldable modules are portable and ideal for mobile use outside of the vehicle.
Can I expand my solar set later?
Yes, many systems can be expanded modularly. You can add additional solar modules or batteries, provided the charge controller and wiring are designed for this. Please refer to the manufacturer's specifications.
How much power do I need for my motorhome?
This depends on your power needs. For basic needs (lights, cooler, laptop), 100–200 W is usually sufficient. For larger needs (refrigerator, inverter, heater), 300–400 W or more is recommended.
